The workstation allows healthcare providers to perform bronchodilator responsiveness testing during both vital capacity (VC) and forced vital capacity (FVC) sessions. According to Vitalograph, this functionality is available under the “Post” mode of the device.

The company noted that the Compact does not require full calibration. Instead, Vitalograph recommends a daily calibration verification routine, which aligns with the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and European Respiratory Society (ERS) 2019 technical standards for spirometers regardless of flow technology.

To maintain low running costs, the device does not require disposable sensors, turbines, adaptors, or flow tubes. Hygiene is managed through a validated system using Bacterial Viral Filters (BVF).
