The COPD Foundation has partnered with Clean Air Dynamics to emphasize the importance of clean air for managing chronic lung diseases and enhancing patient quality of life.

RT’s Three Key Takeaways:

  1. Focus on Air Quality: The COPD Foundation’s partnership with Clean Air Dynamics aims to raise awareness about the critical role of clean air in managing chronic lung diseases such as COPD.
  2. Advanced Technology: Clean Air Dynamics provides FDA-cleared air disinfection devices designed to remove harmful particles, thereby improving indoor air quality.
  3. Enhanced Patient Outcomes: By ensuring access to cleaner air, the collaboration seeks to reduce respiratory symptoms and improve overall health outcomes for patients with chronic lung diseases.

The COPD Foundation has established a new partnership with Clean Air Dynamics, an air quality solutions provider offering medical-grade and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared air disinfection technology, to highlight the importance of clean air in the lives of individuals with chronic lung diseases.

Clean air is essential for managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)  and improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with respiratory diseases. Both indoor and outdoor air pollution can exacerbate symptoms in people with respiratory diseases.

Research indicates that using air purifiers to clean tiny particles of mold, dust, or pollen from indoor air can help alleviate COPD symptoms. These harmful particles can cause swelling in the lungs, which can worsen cough, breathing problems, and congestion.

Clean Air Vital for Lung Disease Patients

“Breathing clean air is important for everyone’s health, but it is particularly vital for those with chronic lung diseases,” says Jean Wright, MD, MBA, CEO of the COPD Foundation, in a release. “Ensuring access to cleaner air can reduce respiratory symptoms and improve overall health outcomes. This partnership will focus on raising awareness about the importance of air quality and steps to help individuals with chronic lung disease reduce their exposure to pollutants.”

Clean Air Dynamics provides access to medical-grade and FDA-cleared portable air disinfection devices for use in indoor spaces, in addition to products for use with portable oxygen devices. These products are used in hospital systems, schools, medical/dental clinics, and long-term care facilities to mitigate airborne pathogens like viruses, bacteria, mold spores, and volatile organic compounds.

“I’m excited to work with the team at the COPD Foundation as the mission of our two organizations is closely aligned,” says Raleigh Guice, president of Clean Air Dynamics, in a release. “I believe in equitable access to the best health care technologies available and remain committed to helping improve indoor air quality for people everywhere.”
