RT’s Three Key Takeaways:

  1. Market Entry: Inogen has launched the Aurora mask line in the US, representing the company’s first entry into the obstructive sleep apnea market.
  2. Product Variety: The portfolio includes three specific designs—the F1 Full Face, N1 Nasal Cushion, and P1 Nasal Pillows—to accommodate various facial structures and therapy needs.
  3. Patient Satisfaction: A company study found that a majority of patients reported high satisfaction with the comfort and performance of the new masks, according to the company.

Inogen Inc has announced the launch of its Aurora masks for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the United States.

The introduction of the Aurora line is a significant step in the company’s strategy to grow into a broad home healthcare respiratory solutions provider. Inogen intends to leverage its existing distribution channels and partnerships to bring the new masks to customers and strengthen its relationships with healthcare providers.

The Aurora mask portfolio is comprised of three models: the F1 Full Face, N1 Nasal Cushion, and P1 Nasal Pillows. These masks were engineered to provide options for different facial structures and therapy needs, which the company says promotes patient-focused care and encourages consistent use of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.

“The launch of Aurora CPAP masks represents a pivotal step in Inogen’s evolution towards expanding into a broad home care respiratory solutions company and our entry into the sleep apnea market,” said Kevin Smith, president and chief executive officer, in a news release.

According to Inogen, the launch is supported by a patient-use study where the majority of patients reported being highly satisfied with the Aurora masks. The company views the new line as a way to bring patient-centric innovation to a new category of home respiratory care.

“With Aurora Masks, we are bringing the same patient-centric innovation that defines our respiratory solutions to a new category, delivering comfort, performance, and reliability,” said Smith, president and chief executive officer, in a news release. “We see Aurora Masks as a growth catalyst that reinforces our commitment to leading in patient outcomes in home respiratory care.”
