The purpose of this educational webinar is to expand and improve the knowledge base and capacity of respiratory therapists and other respiratory care practitioners to perform high-quality CPR. The presentation from Eric V. Ernest, MD, EMT-P, FACEP, FAEMS, will present the physiology of CPR, how intrathoracic pressure regulation (IPR) therapy improves blood flow, how IPR therapy can be delivered with an impedance threshold device (ITD), and best practices for how to use the ITD device.

Eric V. Ernest, MD, EMT-P, FACEP, FAEMS
Dr. Ernest is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In addition to his faculty position at UNMC, Ernest serves medical director for the state of Nebraska, where he oversees EMS services across the state.
