According to the company, the device represents the only rib fixation system to offer both PEEK and titanium implants engineered to support intrathoracic and extrathoracic surgical approaches. The manufacturer stated that this design provides surgeons with added versatility when stabilizing traumatic rib fractures in blunt chest trauma cases.
Chest Wall Innovations noted that rib fractures remain among the most frequent injuries resulting from blunt chest trauma. The company highlighted that surgical stabilization of rib fractures is increasingly progressing toward standard-of-care status for properly selected patient populations in trauma healthcare settings.
