Zoll Medical Corp and Visiomed Group’s e-health subsidiary BewellConnect signed an MOU focused on developing a mobile health solution that integrates Zoll RescueNet AmbulancePad with BewellConnect VisioCheck for the French market.
The goal is to improve overall efficiency of mobile emergency care teams encompassing clinicians, EMS and fire professionals, and lay rescuers.
“I am excited by this collaboration with Zoll,” said Michel Emelianoff, Deputy CEO Visiomed Group. “It is a significant step in fulfilling the strategy announced a few weeks ago by Visiomed Group around the development of its Mobile telemedicine segment, and our customers are already showing deep interest in this integrated solution. With 40,000 light emergency vehicles serving the French market, the impact we can have on emergent healthcare is considerable.”
Zoll develops and markets medical devices and software solutions that help advance emergency care and resuscitation. Designed for emergency care professionals, AmbulancePad is a leading patient charting application (electronic Patient Care Record, or ePCR), allowing users to optimize documentation, data collection, and communication.
VisioCheck (a class IIA-certified and FDA approved medical device is a mobile telemedicine station that measures vital physiological constants(pulse, bloodpressure, temperature, oxygen saturation, ECG) and transfers data in real time. It can provide teleconsultation by video conference. Compact and light (less than 300g), VisioCheck is ideal for mobile emergency care teams.
Through the integration of these solutions, the rich data set generated by the VisioCheck station will be uploaded to the AmbulancePad chart in real time, creating a more accurate and complete record of treatment and patient vitals. The goal is to significantly improve pre-hospital coordination, improve accuracy, and reduce time required for documentation. Clinicians in the SAMU will now have the complete record as the AmbulancePad ePCR is sent in advance of the patient’s arrival.
“The pace of innovation in healthcare is breathtaking,” said Alex Moghadam, president of Zoll Data Systems. “The integration of these two powerful solutions enables a multiplier effect—not only improving accuracy and efficiency for emergency care teams, but directly driving improved patient care by giving clinicians a complete record of the patient’s pre-hospital care and status.”
