VGM Group Inc announced the acquisition of SleepGlad, maker of a cloud-based 3D mask-fitting platform for CPAP and noninvasive ventilation. This acquisition aims to enhance VGM Group’s portfolio in the sleep technology sector.
Developed by a board-certified sleep physician, SleepGlad scans and measures patients remotely through a smartphone or camera-enabled device. Combined with a machine-learning platform, SleepGlad provides a manufacturer-agnostic recommendation for the ideal mask fit.
SleepGlad helps providers find the right mask for their patients on the first fitting. The technology creates 97% accurate mask recommendations, according to the company, saving both providers and patients time in the mask fitting/re-fitting process and improving the overall patient experience.
“Technology continues to define the future of healthcare, and I’m proud VGM is leading the charge,” says Jeremy Stolz, VGM Group CEO, in a release. “SleepGlad is a perfect addition to the diversified VGM family of businesses. It utilizes leading-edge technology to support providers and improve patient outcomes. That’s why VGM is here. We’re committed to investing in solutions that help providers focus on what they do best—providing the highest quality care for patients.”
The SleepGlad team, except for David Baxter, president of Baxter Technologies, will continue to operate under VGM’s ownership. The team includes Tim Bethany, vice president; Jose Valentin, business development manager; Hatem Alamir, vice president engineering; and Emin Muratoglu, full stack developer.
“I am confident that SleepGlad’s future is bright with VGM Group,” says Baxter in a release. “The SleepGlad team is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the high standards of service that our customers have come to expect. Although I am stepping away from the company, I remain committed to supporting the DME industry and exploring new technologies. SleepGlad’s innovative spirit and dedication to improving sleep health will continue to thrive with VGM Group.”
Boone Lockard, CRT, vice president of clinical services at VGM & Associates, who will oversee the SleepGlad team, adds in a release, “SleepGlad perfectly fills a gap in our current sleep solution offerings, and it’s a real game-changer for our customers. It simplifies a time-consuming and hands-on process, and most importantly, it helps improve patient quality of care.”
VGM will debut the SleepGlad offering, along with a suite of provider-focused sleep solutions, at Medtrade next month in its booth, #701.
