Intersurgical entered into an agreement to acquire the Acute Care and Interventional Urology businesses of Teleflex, according to a company news release.
According to Teleflex, it will receive $530 million for its Acute Care and Interventional Urology businesses.
With this transaction, Intersurgical will integrate the Acute Care and Interventional Urology product ranges, technical expertise, and operations, enabling the company to deliver a broader, more comprehensive portfolio to its customers and distribution partners worldwide, it says.
“This acquisition reflects a long-term ambition to expand our range and offering to the market. We are excited to bring the Teleflex Acute Care and Interventional Urology teams into our family. We have long considered their brands to be world class and synergistic with the Intersurgical range,” said Charles Bellm, Managing Director and CEO, Intersurgical. “Teleflex has built a strong reputation over many years in these two categories supported by valuable product range depth, excellent people and technical knowledge. Combined, we are better positioned to serve our customers with an expanded portfolio and increased operational capacity.”
In February 2025, Teleflex announced it would divide the company into two separate entities: a new, independent publicly traded company (“NewCo”) consisting of Teleflex’s Urology, Acute Care, and OEM businesses; and Teleflex RemainCo (“RemainCo”) consisting of Teleflex’s Vascular Access, Interventional, and Surgical businesses – focusing on high-growth, high-acuity, primarily hospital-focused emergent end markets.
Key Benefits of the Acquisition Post-Closing
- Expanded Product Portfolio: Customers will gain access to a broader suite of solutions across anaesthesia, airway management and urology.
- Commitment to Continuity: Intersurgical will maintain existing processes, customer support channels, and points of contact to ensure a seamless transition.
- Enhanced Capabilities: The integration will strengthen research, development, and technical support resources, enabling more robust service and long-term growth.
Teleflex Acute Care and Interventional Urology operations will continue under the leadership of Intersurgical, with both organizations working collaboratively to ensure alignment and operational efficiency, the company says.
“We look forward to welcoming the teams from these businesses of Teleflex® and building on the strong foundations and reputable portfolio they have established,” continued Bellm. “This is an exciting step forward that will create meaningful value for our customers, employees, and partners.”
“For the Acute Care team, this transaction will provide a strong and stable path for continued progress” said Kevin Robinson, President and General Manager, Acute Care. “Our products and people have earned the trust of clinicians around the world, and this acquisition will allow us to build on that foundation. Intersurgical’s commitment to operational excellence, customer support, and long-term investment aligns closely with how we work. This transition will strengthen our ability to serve customers, advance our portfolio, and support better outcomes for patients.”
“This transaction marks an exciting new chapter for our Interventional Urology team” said Travis Gay, President and General Manager, Interventional Urology. “Our portfolio, clinical expertise, and strong customer partnerships have been built over many years, and this transition gives the business a solid platform for future growth. Intersurgical shares our focus on product quality, innovation, and supporting providers with solutions that make a meaningful difference in patient care. Together, we can expand our reach and bring even greater value to the urology community.”
The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
