The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reminding respiratory therapists that over-the-counter Primatene Mist inhalers will be discontinued starting January 1, 2012. The agency warns RTs to be prepared for patients who might show up in clinics and emergency departments once it becomes unavailable.
The FDA has made flyers available in English and Spanish to get the word out to patients as well.
