Effective May 13, 2009, all airlines that take off or land in the United States are now required to allow Department of Transportation-approved individually-owned portable oxygen concentrators (POCs) to be carried on and used aboard the plane. The Airline Oxygen Council of America (AOCA) Web site contains a full explanation of the rules, names of the approved concentrators, and information on reporting a problem with an airline concerning supplemental oxygen.
