The Stat Profile Prime Plus Critical Care Analyzer integrates blood gas, electrolyte, and metabolite testing to support clinical decision-making in healthcare settings.
RT’s Three Key Takeaways:
- Rapid Diagnostic Turnaround: The analyzer provides results for a 22-test menu in approximately 90 seconds using only two drops of blood.
- Expanded Clinical Menu: The system includes tests for estimated plasma volume and ionized magnesium to help clinicians assess patient volume status and electrolyte balance.
- Simplified Maintenance: The platform utilizes maintenance-free sensor cards and non-lysing CO-Oximetry technology to improve workflow efficiency and reliability.
Nova Biomedical’s Stat Profile Prime Plus critical care analyzer offers a 22-test menu designed to help clinicians assess patient intravascular volume, acid-base balance, and kidney function, according to the company.
The system delivers results in approximately 90 seconds using two drops of blood. The testing menu includes blood gases, electrolytes, metabolites, and CO-Oximetry. Specifically, the analyzer measures pH, PCO2, PO2, Na, K, Cl, iCa, iMg, glucose, lactate, blood urea nitrogen (BUN)/Urea, creatinine, Hct, Hb, and SO2%.
“The Stat Profile Prime Plus critical care analyzer offers the most clinical value for critical care testing,” said Nova Biomedical, the manufacturer, in a news release. The platform’s inclusion of estimated plasma volume (ePV), ionized magnesium (iMg), and creatinine/estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) assists in evaluating tissue hypoxia, electrolyte balance, and glucose control.
The analyzer utilizes maintenance-free component cartridge technology for sensors and reagents. A patented optical system provides a full CO-Oximetry panel through a disposable sensor card, eliminating the need for cleaning or lysing. According to the company, these MicroSensor cards can be shared across analyzers of the same model to increase reliability and reduce maintenance requirements.
The platform also features bidirectional connectivity and point-of-care management. The system includes data encryption and network security to provide protection for healthcare facilities. This allows for remote review and control of the analyzer while maintaining high levels of data security, the company stated.
