The VitaloQub includes a high-capacity bench seat and integrated software to support a range of diagnostic respiratory tests.

RT’s Three Key Takeaways:

  1. Enhanced Patient Accessibility: The device features a low step height and a wide bench seat designed to support patients weighing up to 550 lbs.
  2. Broad Diagnostic Range: The system performs several tests including body plethysmography, diffusing capacity, spirometry, and bronchial challenge testing.
  3. Integrated Software Platform: The device utilizes ComPAS2 software to manage interpretation workflows and electronic medical record (EMR) integration for healthcare facilities.

Vitalograph Inc introduced the VitaloQub Body Plethysmograph, the latest addition to the Vitalograph Morgan family of pulmonary function testing (PFT) equipment. The system features a cabin with a low step height for easy access and a wide bench seat that supports up to 550 lbs, according to the company.

The VitaloQUB is powered by ComPAS2 software and provides testing capabilities including full body plethysmography, diffusing capacity, and spirometry. The device also includes a dedicated patient viewing monitor as a standard feature.

Testing options available on the system include forced vital capacity (FVC), slow vital capacity (SVC), thoracic gas volume (VTG), and airways resistance (RAW). It also measures the diffusing capacity of carbon monoxide (DLCO) to evaluate how well oxygen and carbon dioxide transfer between the lungs and the blood, according to the company.

Additional diagnostic capabilities include bronchial challenge tests, multi-breath nitrogen washout (MBN2), single-breath nitrogen washout (SBN2), and cough peak flow (CPF). The system also measures maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV), respiratory pressures such as maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures, and sniff nasal inspiratory pressure (SNIP).

The software platform allows healthcare providers to manage predicted normals and interpretation workflows. It is also designed for integration with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to streamline data management in the PFT lab.
