Asthma-detecting service dogs can be trained to notice changes in their owner’s breathing.
“It’s not magic. It’s very simple. It’s dog training,” said Julie Case, the owner of Ultimate Canine.
Case says a four-legged friend could be the difference between life and death, when an asthma attack hits without any warning.
“We can use the behavior the child will exhibit like wheezing or gasping for air,” she explained. “Quite often it’s a successful outcome because we can train these dogs to react in a specific way.”
Service dogs CAUSE asthma attacks. Dog dander triggers asthma. Furthermore, asthma medications won’t work as long as an asthmatic is forced to breathe in dog dander. Obviously, you care nothing for our lives. You have more right to your “emotional support” animal than I have to breathe the clean air I need to live.
Actually you are correct and incorrect at the same time. People with allergies to animals need to protect themselves from any asthma related trigger whether it be air pollution from trees, grass, pollen and even dogs or cats. However in my case my service animal alerted me of a upcoming asthma attack and I was able to catch it early on to take my meds. If someone lets me know they’re allergic to animals I will try to move further away from them but like I said…its their responsibility to protect themselves vis meds, mask etc. Hope this helps 😊🙏🏽
