Sunset Healthcare Solutions has added KidZzzs, the first mask liners pre-cut specifically for pediatric noninvasive ventilation (NIV).

RT’s Three Key Takeaways:

  1. Pediatric-Specific Design: KidZzzs are the first mask liners pre-cut specifically for pediatric non-invasive ventilation (NIV) masks to improve fit and streamline provider workflow.
  2. Skin Protection: The liners provide a soft barrier to reduce friction and moisture, helping prevent skin breakdown and pressure injuries in children receiving prolonged NIV therapy.
  3. Operational Efficiency: By eliminating the need to manually trim generic wound care dressings, the pre-cut liners save time for clinicians and reduce material waste.

Sunset Healthcare Solutions has added KidZzzs Pediatric Mask Liners to its product line, the first pre-cut liners designed specifically for pediatric noninvasive ventilation (NIV) masks.

Children receiving NIV therapy are at an increased risk for skin irritation and pressure injuries because their delicate skin is exposed to prolonged mask use. According to a news release from Sunset, the liners provide a soft, protective barrier between the mask and the patient’s skin to help reduce friction and moisture that contribute to skin breakdown.

The liners are precision-cut to fit pediatric masks directly out of the package, replacing the time-consuming practice of trimming generic wound care dressings to fit. The products attach directly to the mask rather than the patient, helping to minimize air leaks by improving the seal, comfort, and fit.

“We’re excited to bring this new solution to the acute care provider’s toolbox, saving them valuable time and helping improve clinical outcomes for pediatric patients,” said Krystle Bodine, respiratory therapist at Sunset Healthcare. “KidZzzs mask liners improve comfort while reducing air leaks and skin breakdown, helping enhance well-being and compliance among our youngest patients.”

In addition to saving time for healthcare providers, the liners are designed to eliminate material waste caused by trimming oversized dressings. The products are latex-free, made in the US, and compatible with popular pediatric NIV masks.
