According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, the most challenging place to live in the United States with seasonal allergies is Wichita, Kansas.
The AAFA released its annual “Top 10 most challenging places to live with seasonal allergies” list, which weighs common allergens like tree, grass, and weed pollen, allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma, and more. The AAFA analyzed data from the 100-most populous cities in the US.
The report looks at these important factors:
- Tree, grass, and weed pollen scores throughout the year
- Over-the-counter allergy medicine use
- Availability of board-certified allergists/immunologists
Wichita, Kansas was the most challenging city for the third year in a row due to its worse-than-average tree and grass pollen, worse-than-average allergy medicine use, and worse-than-average number of board-certified allergists/immunologists, according to the AAFA.
