The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting 2,073 confirmed measles cases in 2026, according to a June 12 update by the agency.

A total of 2,063 cases have been reported in 39 states, plus 10 cases reported among international visitors to the US, the CDC says.

There have been 30 new outbreaks reported in 2026, and 93% of confirmed cases (1,929 of 2,073) are outbreak-associated, according to the CDC.

The 2026 total is approaching 2025’s total of 2,288 confirmed infections, which was the most US cases in 34 years (1991).

The majority of 2026 cases have occurred in South Carolina, which declared its state outbreak “ended” on April 27, 2026 with 997 infections, 21 hospitalizations, and zero related deaths.
