“Quit smoking” is one of America’s most popular new year’s resolutions, though the commitment is met with varying degrees of success. In fact, according to the American Lung Association (ALA), six out of 10 smokers require multiple quit attempts to stop smoking.

The ALA is hoping to make 2013 different by providing a range of online tools to help people kick their tobacco habit for good.

“Quitting smoking is the single most important step smokers can take to improve their health—but they do not have to go through it alone,” said Norman H. Edelman, MD, chief medical officer of the American Lung Association. “Developing a support system and taking advantage of the American Lung Association’s proven tools and resources greatly enhance their likelihood of quitting for good.”
